Godzilla vs. Productivity

... Are they supposed to be on the Twin Towers? I missed that part

Looking for newer and dumber ways to distract myself, I discovered that one of my first and favorite episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 is actually available on Google Video.

(Oh good Lord, my old dude neighbor across the street is walking around with no shirt on.
Closing curtains now...)

Too bad this didn't come in Japanese with English subtitles: at least then I could lie to myself and call it "studying." But the dubs in this movie are just so bad that it only adds to its B-movie charm. I had read before that the producers of MST3K could not secure distribution rights in order to release their Godzilla episodes to video (someone apparently did not have a sense of humor about just how ridiculous the Godzilla films got as they went on), and I always assumed I would never again be able to watch Godzilla vs. Megalon. I think it also holds a special place in my heart because I saw the movie without snarky robot commentary when I was a little kid. Jet Jaguar does look like a giant toy.

Anyway, while I rewatched the movie, I decided to make a comic featuring me! So much better than listening to the same conversation for the 10th time about my teacher's adventures in China.

For the uninitiated, as a reader of this blog I am obligating you to watch the following videos. The 2 of them together are absolutely canonical for MST3K fans:

And the Jet Jaguar song!

Okay, I'm done now.
