These are the other pictures I had wanted to put in the last post, but for some reason wouldn't upload.
If you've ever wondered what a Japanese bathroom looks like... It's basically a giant plastic room. The faucet doubles as both water for the sink, and through the flip of a switch, water for the shower. Very exciting.
My bed and desk. The air conditioner is just above my bed. And yeah, those are the clothes I was wearing that day... seriously, if you spend more than 10 minutes outdoors you build up a disgusting sweat, and the second you step inside you disrobe. It's not near as sexy as it sounds.
What I wanted to buy for Kanata because I think his dad would approve, but ultimately decided it was easier to take a picture.
Not to sensationalize this any further than The New York Times did last year, but these body pillows were the prize in one of those claw games in an arcade in Akihabara (aka, otaku or nerd central, ground zero for all of those bizarre stories you hear about the Japanese). It's certainly where James Franco found love. If you want to read more about body pillows, or dakimakura (and why wouldn't you?), you can check out the original story from the NYT Magazine here.
